Windsor Guildhall Wedding Photography | Mo & Mark’s Wedding
Mo & Mark were married at the magnificent Windsor Guildhall on a wonderful sunny day in November.
The Grade I listed Guildhall built by Sir Christopher Wren lies just a few hundred metres from Windsor Castle and it was also the chosen location for the marriages of Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles & Sir Elton John and David Furnish.
Their Scottish – English wedding celebrations were held in both Eton & Windsor and their family portraits were to be taken by the River Thames on Eton’s riverside meadow The Brocas which commands magnificent views over Windsor Castle that was to be used as the backdrop … that was the intended plan, however on the day of their wedding both Eton & Windsor were covered in a thick Winter mist.
Mark got ready at their home in Eton with best man Stuart. Mo having got ready at her family home in Windsor and arrived at the Guildhall with bridesmaid Maise, ring bearer Louis and her dad Alf and they were met by Jim Motherwell a former Queens Piper from the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders.
The setting was set. Mo & Mark’s many friends and family were in place in the Chamber, Mo waiting around the corner took a deep breath and on the arm of Alf was piped into the room by Jim to a waiting beaming Mark. During the ceremony shafts on sunlight suddenly shone through the Chambers windows, it lit up the room beautifully – also a good sign as the mist was lifting. The ceremony went well and the wedding party happily walked down the hill in the sunshine to Eton for their family portraits.
The wedding breakfast was held in Eton at the Watermans Arms, a charming traditional pub built circa 1682. The pub was completely packed out with their friends and the food and live music was excellent – this was a great relaxed fun wedding and we had fun too.
The mist had a final say on their wedding day and as the sun was setting I noticed a thin film of mist had returned to The Brocas and I quickly took Mo & Mark out to take a couple of portraits. I felt they worked well, a special couple in their special place.
