Wedding Photography in St Paul’s Cathedral | Laura & Pauls’s Wedding
Laura & Paul had a fantastic wedding which was held in the crypt of the Chapel of the Order of the British Empire in the iconic St Paul’s Cathedral in London.
Laura looked amazing as she made her entrance and walked down the aisle on the arm of her father Steve to her chosen music Canon in D by Johann Pachelbel. The ceremony went very well and the wonderful acoustics in the crypt were perfect for the choir that sung 2 hymns during the service.
After the ceremony we took a group photograph of the wedding party and guests on the steps St Paul’s Cathedral … not an easy task with hundreds of tourists milling around, however people do respect weddings and everyone kindly moved out of the way for us to do this. It was harder to take an image on the Millennium Bridge. As their guests boarded a London Routemaster bus for a sightseeing tour we walked down to the bridge together with 2 ushers to take an image we had discussed at our pre-wedding meeting.
From the Millennium Bridge the view of St Paul’s dome is magnificent and on any given Saturday thousands of people use the bridge to cross the River Thames to visit the Tate Modern gallery, Laura & Paul wished for an image with just themselves on the bridge so on a given signal the 2 ushers positioned in front and behind us asked everyone to stop walking over the bridge for just a few minutes – it worked!
The value of having a great hairdresser was evident in Laura’s choice of hairdresser Severin Hubert (who is also one of our recommended wedding suppliers) it was very windy weather on the 2 outdoor portrait locations and her hairstyle was perfect all day long.
The wedding breakfast was held close by in the wonderful rooftop French restaurant Coq d’Argent. As they entered the garden their family and guests had formed a circle and threw petals over the happy couple as they made their way to the drinks reception. The speeches were very good and best man Rory delivered a speech that had Paul looking both worried and crying with laughter.
This was a wonderful wedding, 2 magnificent settings, great food, great company and a really good band that played into the early hours.
