Wedding Photography Hotel Cours de Loges
Laurence & Daobin held their wedding celebration at the magnificent 5-star Cour des Loges hotel in Lyon, France.
Already officially married in China they wished to celebrate their marriage in Laurence’s home town of Lyon in the presence of Laurence’s closet family. They had organised a long lunch in the hotels private dining room preceded by a Champagne drinks reception. After lunch they had arranged for a storyteller to come to the restaurant to entertain Laurence’s young nephews & nieces by playing a guitar and telling stories. It was a very special day for her family.
I arrived in Lyon late afternoon the day before and knowing that it would rain the next day we went out into the back streets to take some images for an hour just before the light disappeared for the day.
The hotel with its Renaissance history & Michelin starred restaurant is located in Lyon’s old town. Once four separate buildings dating back as far as the fourteenth century, Cour des Loges is now a single hotel and an exquisite place to stay.
It was a stunning venue and a perfect place to photograph their portraits (a small selection in the slideshow above) before the lunch began. The deep rich colours were amazing … however it was a little too dark, I love natural light but the images required just a little fill in flash from a small off camera strobe, it was a very simple setup but quite effective.
