Wedding Photography Great Fosters Hotel | Laura & Tim’s Wedding

Laura & Tim had a wonderful wedding at the Great Fosters Hotel. In the blog post of our pre-wedding meeting I said “there was something about this hotel that felt special “cosy and homely” … it was even more cosy and homely on their wedding day and the laid tables & decorations in the Tithe Barn (anno 1390) were magnificent.

Tim with his Best Man Nicky, Usher Adam and Laura’s Dad Ian got ready together in a local hotel .. in probably England’s smallest hotel room – it was hot. All went well, the only major incident was that Tim found he was wearing socks with the word ’Usher’ printed on them and could not immediately find his ‘Groom’ socks.
Far from a small cramped hotel room Laura got ready in the wonderful large 17th century Tapestry room at Great Fosters, she got ready with her Mum Christine, Sister Jamie, best friend Michelle & Niece/Flower Girl Matilda. Marianne says that all went well “it was a beautiful room with wonderful light – they drank Champagne”. Flower Girl Matilda took her responsibilities seriously and practised throwing petals from her wicker basket.

Laura walked down the aisle on the arm of her dad Ian to the processional music played by Meredith and her daughter Elizabeth who Laura used to teach when she was in Year 1.
The ceremony in the Orangery went very well and the decorations resembling a Spring garden looked wonderful.
When we had taken the family photographs we walked around the garden to take their portraits … as they walked towards me they were all smiles when suddenly Laura’s veil got caught in a rose bush, most brides would have been horrified “I bet that made a good photo” said Laura laughing. It did. Another nice ’captured moment’ was taken in the evening at the ‘throwing of the bouquet’ which was caught by a guy .. his friend ended up on the floor. The image is in the gallery.

I also took a special image at their wedding of all the four couples whose weddings we have photographed in this lovely family – a blog post will follow in the week. We felt very much at home at this wedding having been with the family many times, it was a great wedding, a fun happy wedding in a magnificent setting.
