Royal Windsor Racecourse Wedding Photography | Preet & Neil’s Wedding

I knowingly accept you as you knowingly accept me, May we remain together, listen to joyous sounds together, May we always experience well-being and speak loving words. May we remain together for a hundred autumns.

Preet & Neil had a wonderful wedding full of joy, fun and colour. There was also plenty of emotion such as during the Vidai ritual when Preet & Neil departed and Preet’s family saw them off.
Neil was accompanied by his brother and they arrived at the Windsor Racecourse in a White Rolls Royce where they were greeted by their family and friends. They then all walked behind a Dhol drummer who beat out their arrival, they sung and danced along the way and were met by Preet’s family and the families exchanged gifts and colourful garlands. A brunch was then held in the Parade Ring Marquee next to the Pavilion where the ceremonies were to be held.

Preet made her entrance on the the arm of her brother and walked towards the Mandep where her parents waited together with Neil … who was hidden behind a cloth acting as a screen so he could not see what was happening. Preet sat down opposite Neil and the cloth was slowly lowered – they saw each other for the first time and they both burst out laughing. It was a magical moment.

There were many rituals held during their ceremony, for all their guests who had not experienced a Hindu wedding before they had made a brochure explaining all the rituals the text of which can be read here: Vedic Hindu Wedding Ceremony Rituals.

They held 2 ceremonies, immediately after the Hindu wedding ceremony they held a civil ceremony. At the reception fantastic food was served in abundance – favourites of ours included the Stuffed Jalapeño Peppers, Shahi Paneer Lababdaar & Masala Bhindi.

The speeches went well and the dancing was brilliant. The nice thing about Hindu & Sikh weddings is that everybody gets up on the dance floor and give it all they can, looking across the floor I saw that everybody was having a great time not least Preet & Neil who were really enjoying their own wedding.
