Marianne & Geoff’s wedding at Micklefield Hall
Marianne and Geoff were married yesterday, they had a fantastic wedding day.
All the rain in England could not damper the spirits of this lovely couple. Despite the drizzle we had luck with the weather and on key moments during the day the rain held off and amazingly in the evening it cleared up and there was a lovely red sunset as darkness fell and the disco began.
Micklefield Hall is an astounding wedding location, and it was there that Marianne got ready together with her bridesmaids. Marianne’s mum also helped the girls and it was herself that had made the bridesmaids dresses.
On the grounds was a large marquis which was beautifully decorated for their 200+ guests. The lawns were perfect for the children to play on – I saw one lad gleefully chasing one of the hens which abruptly stopped running laid an egg and ran off, the little lad did not know what to make of it and his expression was priceless.
We can vouch that the Greek inspired food was excellent. For the main course a park ranger had slowly cooked 10 pairs of back lamb over an open fire, the wood he used was oak which gave the lamb a special flavour.
Screen writer Geoff had written a fantastic speech, it was witty and entertaining and he delivered it perfectly – his declaration of love towards Marianne was extremely powerful and it moved her and many others to tears.
We left the wedding just after the Greek dancing … looking back I could see the dance floor was full and the party was well under way.
