Coq d’Argent Wedding
In the City of London at the junction of Poultry and Queen Victoria Street, adjacent to Bank junction is a dominating postmodern building called No 1 Poultry.
The turret above the building is sometimes likened to a ships bridge or a submarine conning tower … behind this is a breathtaking rooftop garden and French restaurant called Coq d’Argent and it is here that Laura & Paul will be holding their wedding breakfast after their St Paul’s Cathedral wedding.
It was a year ago when Laura & Paul had booked us and it was great to have finally met up and hold our pre-wedding meeting. We looked around the restaurant and then went out onto the rooftop terrace and looked at the stunning views of the City. The terrace featured briefly in the opening ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games in the segment ‘Happy and Glorious’ which saw Daniel Craig as James Bond transport Queen Elizabeth II to the Olympic Stadium by helicopter – view the film.
Their wedding will be held in the magnificent St Paul’s Cathedral and we walked the short distance from Coq d’Argent to the Cathedral to scout the area for where we would take some family & portrait images. A bitterly cold Winter wind was blowing down the River Thames as we crossed the Millennium Bridge. The view from the bridge back to the iconic Cathedral is amazing and this is where we will be taking their portraits … we are all hoping it will be less windy and warmer on the day in a few weeks time.
Update: Laura & Paul are now married, read about their St Paul’s Cathedral & Coq d’Argent wedding.
