Caledonian Club Wedding Photography | Alison & David’s Wedding
David was in the car with his best man Dave & Dave’s son Theo (ring bearer) and they were nearly at the church when Theo asked his dad if he should not have the wedding rings? I was not in the car but I can imagine the look on Dave’s face when he realised that he had forgotten them. A classic.
At the same time in another part of London sandwiches & chocolate were being served in Alison’s room at the Caledonian Club “everybody was there at some point, it was very busy” said Marianne “Alison together with the bridesmaids and her mum Marjorie toasted in Champagne before they left”.
Three pretty flower girls Clementine, Evelyn & Nina Burnett were the first to walk down the aisle followed by bridesmaids Michelle, Claire, Ruth & Katja (David’s daughter), they were followed by the matron of honour Jennifer (Alison’s sister) and then Alison herself who looked beautiful and she walked down the aisle on the arm of her father Richard to the processional music Prince of Denmark’s March by J.Clarke.
The wedding ceremony led by Rev Andrea Price went very well as did the readings by Dave, Michelle & their friend the Rev Jenny Dawkins.
During the signing of the register their guests were entertained by their soprano singing friend Sky Ingram who performed Amazing Grace & Ave Maria, she sung high up from the balcony and her voice filled the church, the recessional music was The Wedding March by F. Mendelssohn.
It was a perfect Summers day but unfortunately just as they were to exit the church a forecasted Summer shower happened and the confetti could not be thrown outside but was done in the church foyer. Everybody made their way to the club were drinks and canopies were served followed by a group picture on the stair well with their some 120 guests – it was a bit of a squeeze but it worked. The wedding breakfast was served and the speeches by Richard, David & Dave were very good.
Every wedding should have Ceilidh (Scottish) dancing! Originally the word Ceilidh is descended from the Gaelic word for gathering or party (Ceili in Irish) and it was a great fun evening party that Alison & David had. Everybody was on the dance floor having a great time – the floor at the Caledonian Club is spring loaded and it gave an extra bounce felt by all those dancing. It was really good fun. After the Ceilidh we left the wedding and looking back we could see that Alison & David were really enjoying their wedding.
